During the years 1970 and 1985 there was this Libyan University student ,(thats what he was posing as),who lived in the 1st floor of our building.the flat was rented ,in a for the time pricy area of athens, right across the dormitories of the foreign students of the university, where most of the foreign students from poor countries who couldnt affor4d the rents resided.
We became friends,we use to crash in his house whenever we were not at school ,as this was the place that we could securely out of sight smoke cigarettes(hey we were 16 at the time).
And what i remember from talking to this guy is that whenever i asked him about gadaffi he was hesitant but carefull in his comments ,even though there was noone listening.it seems fear was embedded in his mind and soul.and for years i could see several different people, propably libyans, living in this flat.a lot of coming and going,a lot of dollars changing hands ,i even got the dollars for my year in england from this guy .and at a good rate...:)
So he would talk about his family back home,he talked about how things in libya were not what they seemed, how there were many spies ,who were looking for people who speak against the goverment or the revolution.for him there was nothing good in this revolution ,apart from the fact that he was not in it.
but he was always worried for his family.
Now my take was that this guy plays a double faced role,he was getting money from the goverment (i assume for spying on other libyans in greece ) ,and at the same time he was against the revolution .
I only mentioned this story to say that what is going on today in libya is that there are those who really hate gadafi ,and dont sell their consiousness and those that hate gadafi but are more realistic and take the money he gives to show support and do the dirty job for him.
and to those we need to add the mercenaries from east europe (according to witnesses) ,who kill easily ,as they ve been raised and trained in all their lives for this and this only.
Solution for libya?whoever decides to invade now libya, take control of the oil and pay more than gadafi ,this is who is going to own libya .
USA can easily afford to buy everyone in libya to secure the oil is theirs. But at this point in history ,with lots of voices in america saying to withdraw and change foreign policy ,and stop interferences in sovereign countries of the world ,it seems hard for the US ghoverment to make such a move.maybe behind the cover of UN ,they try something like this.but that would mean that the oil gets shared with others.
Or the 3rd option to allow gadafi to kill everyone who is against him and doesnt get bought ,and allow him to sell oil to make money to pay the killers of libyan people.
what are we to do?are we to allow our nations our goverments to allow this to happen?are we going to make a higher bid to buy libya?or are we going to stop this world from destruction and set the record straight and create a nice future for everyone on the planet?
i believe we will see a lot of blood and at the end the libyan people will still be enslaved and opressed.there s nothing in the world today that can set them free.even if they manage to destroy gadafi ,when they will try to organise a country they will hit the wall of profit ,of self interest ,of multinationals,of world finance and the terrorists of the world (Banks).and this is where they will loose any gain from their fight.sorry libya you are doomed.
